The 5th and 6th graders had a wonderful time on their field trip to the Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM). They were able to work on solving a "crime" in the Forensic Crime Lab by analyzing and interpreting evidence to identify the victim and the perpetrator at a staged crime scene. They reach their conclusions using chromatography, forensic entomology, blood typing, skeletal identification, and other means of discovery that are based on the principles of the scientific method. They also toured the Ancient Egyptian Gallery and saw a real mummy!
