* Tour museums around the world virtually - Virtual Museum Tours
*Here's something fun for students to keep them busy with creativity - a Lego Challenge Calendar!
*Dr. Steve Caparotta, a WAFB meteorologist, has a Facebook series called Cap's Corner: Weather Lessons for Kids at 1pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. The replays and worksheets to go with these sessions are on the WAFB website: Cap's Corner
*Fun Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR): "Merge EDU lets students experience learning in ways never before possible. Touch and hold science lessons, interact with STEM concepts, and be transported to virtual places." They have created a printable paper version of their Merge Cube that you can use with a device (phone/iPad etc.) and the Merge Explorer app to make things 3-D! The website linked HERE has the printable and some information on what you can do with the paper Merge Cube. Some of the topics are free ones to use!
*Is your child interested in space? Well NASA has some great STEM at-home activities for students in K-4th on their special STEM website linked HERE.
*Here is a fun online program for students through Disney and Khan Academy: Imagineering fans, get ready! If you’ve ever been one of many guests who’s visited a Disney theme park and found yourself inspired to dream, build and create, there’s a new online program you just can’t miss! ‘Imagineering in a Box’ is a free online program that brings together the diverse talents of Disney Imagineers around the world for a one-of-a-kind learning experience and is part of Disney’s commitment to helping today’s youth create the future they imagine. *Parents of younger students might find this fun for their children: Stephen Fite will be performing for children, parents, and teachers in an attempt to offer some music, smiles, and laughter during this difficult time. Monday thru Friday at 7 pm on his Facebook page. He has already recorded lives featuring his movement songs Dinosaur Chomp & Goin' on a Shark Hunt so go check them out.
* The LSU AgCenter is putting out 4-H Virtual Recess activities daily on their Facebook, Instagram, and website!
*Louisiana Public Broadcasting has launched "At Home", in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education. If you are a parent or teacher of students in grades Pre-K-12, LPB has resources available to help make your students' time at home more educational and productive. Through the “At Home” learning page, teachers and families can access free videos, apps and games for children, and more from LPB and PBS.
