The Kiwanis Club of Pointe Coupee has announced the winners of their annual awards competition for Pointe Coupee Parish teachers. FRA teachers Priscilla Owens and Natalie Smith were among those selected for this year's grants. Winners were selected based on benefits to the student and community as well as the overall strength of the applications.

Also, the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee has awarded Mrs. Natalie Smith of False River Academy the Jewell Teacher Grant in support of educational programs that incorporate art into the curriculum.
